An International Criminal Court Lawyer seeks arrest of Raila Odinga's step brother
William Ruto’s Lawyer to the International Criminal Court Prof. Kithure Kindiki has called for the arrest of the Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Point Man in Meru and Tharaka Nithi Counties Mr. Mpuru Aburi. Kindiki said Aburi is contravening sections 13 and 62 of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission Act by insisting the Tigania, Igembe and Tharaka communities to pickup arms against the Imenti sub community of the Meru tribe. According to Kindiki Mpuru Aburi who is the Prime Minister’s step brother and the Eastern ODM Coordinator, has gone too far by interpreting his personal differences with the Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi to mean the whole Imenti Community has wronged him. “Mpuru’s statements are meant to ignite animosity among the sub tribes of Meru Community. No matter how grave your differences are with someone you can’t collectivize crime, corruption and any social ill”, he said. He added that a single leader’s wrong can’t be interpreted to mean the whole community has gone astray. Kindiki who is eying the Tharaka Nithi Senate exempted himself from any hate speech orchestrated by the ODM coordinator directed to the Imenti Sub Tribe of Meru Community. “At such a time the country is headed for the elections leaders need address challenges of imbalanced resource distribution and equity in resource distribution”, he said. He further called upon the Chairman of the NCIC Mzalendo Kibunjia who is from Tharaka region to track down the leader saying he is playing divisive politics in several meetings of the two counties. The lawyer who is a die hard of the Eldoret North MP William Ruto also denied joining ODM Party claiming Mpuru Aburi hoodwinked him and disrespectfully requested the Prime Minister during his tour of Tharaka Nithi County in Marimanti stadium to receive him as a member of the party. “He gave me a total surprise by inviting the Prime Minister to receive me in the ODM Party. That was disrespectful to me and the people of Tharaka Nithi County. We had not discussed anything and that’s not the way it should have been done”, he complained. Kindiki said he could not turn down the offer because it was in the presence of other cabinet ministers and did not want to embarrass the Premier. “I didn’t commit myself because I believe that’s not the way one should join a political party. He made a proposal which I heard but the decision will be made after I consult with the people of Tharaka Nithi County. They are my masters and if they want me to join ODM that will be it and if they decide otherwise I will follow their will”, he said
